Esencial AB is a progressive, Stockholm-based architectural office founded in its present form in 2017 by Carmen Izquierdo and Mariano Tellechea.

Our aim is to find the hidden potential behind every issue and formulate a vision that we develop into a viable project. We believe that a close collaboration between the client, architect and contractor, really means that we are able to create fantastic environments for today and the future. We are involved in all stages, from concept to built architecture.

We are perceptive of the place and its character. We analyse the history of events in the location and the building type, the program’s potentials and site conditions. We want to create architecture with a strong sense of presence and place specificity, which adds qualities to its context, which finds a clear answer to the program’s organization and suggests ways to develop previous solutions. We meet the needs and requirements of the program with stimulating spaces and room sequences. We are looking for an architecture that has an intensity, which has a clear materiality and a coherence between the overall shape and the singular building component. We are looking for an architecture that elevates everyday life!
